Alarm Registration and Fees

The Kennett Square Police Department oversees the alarm registration ordinance. New alarms are required to initially be registered with the Police Department for a start up fee of $30. There is a $10 annual registration renewal fee. You will annually receive a notice of your renewal due. 

Please fill out the attached form if there is any change to your emergency contact information for your alarm. 

Repeated False Alarms may result in the receipt of a citation. This is for the purpose of defraying the costs to the Borough of responding to a false alarm. The following schedule shall be used for repeated violations.

Police Alarms:

APD/Audible - per calendar year

  • First false alarm per calendar year: Warning
  • Second false alarm per calendar year: $25.00
  • Third false alarm per calendar year: $50.00
  • Fourth false alarm per calendar year: $75.00
  • Fifth false alarm and any subsequent alarm per calendar year: $100.00

Fire Alarms:

APD/Audible - per calendar year

  • First through the third false alarm per calendar year: warning
  • Fourth and subsequent false alarm per calendar year: $50.00
