Submission Information:

The Kennett Square Police Department prefers Right-To-Know Requests to be submitted electronically through Crimewatch; however, Right-To-Know Request forms can be obtained in person at the Kennett Square Police Department during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

All Right-To-Know requests must be submitted on an official Kennett Square Police Department RTK request form or PA state RTK request form from the PA Office of Open Records.

Important Information:

  • The Kennett Square Police Department will not fulfill anonymous Right-To-Know Request.
  • Accident Reports: Accident report request forms can be found under the Services drop-down tab and are not fulfilled through RTK requests.
  • Right-To-Know requests for current and ongoing criminal investigations will be denied under Chapter 7, Section 708, (b)(16) Exceptions for Public Record of the PA Right-To-Know Law.
  • Incident Reports: Requests for criminal investigations and arrest reports can be completed by requesting an Incident Synopsis through the General Inquiry Form under the Contact Us drop-down tab.

If a record is denied, requestors can appeal the denial in writing to the Office of Open Records, 333 Market St., 16th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101-2234. Additionally, appeals can be filed online at the Office of Open Records website: https://www.openrecords.pa.gov.

If you choose to file an appeal, you must do so within 15 business days of the mailing date of the agency’s response.  See 65 P.S. § 67.1101.  Please note that a copy of your original RTKL request, the agency’s extension notice (if applicable), and this denial letter should be included when filing an appeal.
