2/26/23 at 6:50PM, Officers observed two individuals walking in the 200 Block of S. Mill Road, each carrying a can of beer in a manner as if the can was open and they were drinking it. (KS-23-002304). Both subjects were advised they would be receiving Non-Traffic Citations for violating the Borough Ordinance.
2/26/23 at 6:42PM, Officers were dispatched to the area of the 600 Block of Magnolia Court for a third party report of shots heard. (KS-23-002305). Officers arrived to the area and observed no signs of a disturbance. Contact was made with an individual in the area who advised they heard fireworks earlier.
2/27/23 at 10:41AM, Officers received a report regarding theft of a vehicle in the 600 Block of W. Cypress Street. (KS-23-002327). On 2/28/23, Officers were advised the vehicle had been returned around 6:30AM that morning.
2/27/23 at 2:44PM, Officers were dispatched for a report of a vehicle fire in the 400 Block of W. Cypress Street. (KS-23-002340). After assessing the situation, it was founded that the vehicle was not on fire and that they vehicle had blown a piston out of the engine, subsequently causing the vehicle to smoke as if it was on fire.
2/27/23 at 5:37PM, Officers received a report of threatening. phone calls advising to pay money in exchange for the release of their son, who is being held hostage. (KS-23-002343). The reporting party advised they knew it was a scam due to their child being at home currently.
2/28/23 at 12:40PM, Officers investigated a complaint in regard to an abandoned vehicle on Las Rosas Drive. (KS-23-002374). The vehicle had a temp tag that expired in 2021 and the inspection sticker was expired in 2022. An orange abandoned sticker was placed on the vehicle.
2/28/23 at 3:56PM, Officers were dispatched for a phone assignment in reference to a phone scam. (KS-23-002382). Upon answering the phone, the unknown person stated that they were going to harm the reporting party’s daughter if she did not send them money. The reporting party was able to make contact with their daughter and everything was okay.
3/1/23 at 11:05PM, Officers were dispatched for a phone assignment in reference to the ATM on E. State Street losing power. (KS-23-002427). A few minutes prior to the dispatch, a transformer had blown, cutting power to the area. A patrol of the area was conducted and no suspicious conditions were observed.
3/1/23 at 5:39PM, Officers were dispatched for a report of a public drunkenness, in which the individual was seen exiting their vehicle, urinating in the street and then proceeding to drive off, in the area of W. Mulberry Street and Lafayette Street. (KS-23-002421). Officers were able to make contact with the described vehicle in a parking lot in the 500 Block of W. Cypress Street. The driver was identified as Angel Esparza-Gonzalez, and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance.
3/2/23 at 9:46AM, Officers requested Blittersdorf’s Towing to tow a vehicle. (KS-23-002443). The vehicle was towed due to the Officer giving multiple tickets to this vehicle for parking without a permit.
3/3/23 at 2:57PM, Officers received a harassment report on station in reference to text messages from two unknown subjects asking for money. (KS-23-002505). Officers explained that there are multiple similar phone scams currently and advised not to send money.
3/3/23 at 7:34PM, Officers were dispatched for a phone assignment for a report in reference to custody issues. (KS-23-002515). The reporting party was advised the incident would be documented and this is a civil issue.
3/3/23 at 9:47AM, Officers were dispatched for a juvenile allegedly vaping. (KS-23-002493). The juvenile was advised he would be receiving criminal charges for his actions and possession of the vaporizer.
3/3/23 at 3:55PM, Officers were dispatched for keys locked inside of a vehicle in the 100 Block of E. Linden Street. (KS-23-002506). A damage release form was completed and successful entry was made into the vehicle.
3/4/23 at 8:59PM, Officers were dispatched to the 400 Block of Birch Street, for a medical emergency of someone fainting. (KS-23-002554). Upon arrival the individual was conscious and alert. No further police assistance was needed.
3/4/23 at 10:59AM, Officers were dispatched for a report of identity theft, in reference to multiple bank accounts being opened in the reporting party’s name. (KS-23-00002533). The reporting party was not personally defrauded of any money and there are no further leads.
3/4/23 at 1:56PM, Officers were dispatched to the 400 Block of S. Broad Street for a tree falling on a parked vehicle. (KS-23-002542).
