KSPD recently was granted several pieces of equipment that will assist us in taking health and safety measures as we continue to endure the COVID-19 pandemic and in the future. 

Through a law enforcement grant obtained by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services, KSPD received an AeroClave RDS3110 along with cleaning solutions. This machine will allow us to decontaminate rooms or vehicles and is proven effective against MRSA, HIV-1, Hepatitis B and C, Ebola, MERS, CRE, E. coli, Norovirus, H1N1, Legionella pneumophilia, Salmonella, Listeria, mold, mildew and more. It allows for the use of EPA-appvoed hospital disinfectant to decontaminate rooms, vehicles, equipment, etc. 

Additionally, we received two Seek Scan Kiosks. These kiosks utilize thermal cameras to scan for body temperature assessment for all those who enter the police department. They are reported to be accurate and efficient with +/- 0.5 degrees F within seconds and then alerts our staff to the temperature and a "pass or fail" reading. It meets FDA guidelines for thermal imaging systems for initial body temperature assessment during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. All employees and visitors who enter will be required to have their body temperature checked as part of our COVID-19 mitigation efforts. 

The cost of the equipment obtained through this grant is approximately $19,000.00.  The KSPD would like to thank the Chester County Department of Emergency Services for their assistance in obtaining and disseminating this equipment.
