The Westtown East Goshen Regional Police Department is proud to announce that we will be partnering with The Chester County Department of Emergency Services to offer a unique training opportunity for both their newly hired and seasoned Police Dispatchers.
Starting in September of 2022, selected Police Dispatchers will be permitted to ride along with WEGOPD police officers for field experience as part of their initial new employee and ongoing dispatcher training.
This field experience is intended to not only orient them with our three-township service area, but to safely show our 911 Center Police Dispatcher partners how WEGOPD specifically interacts with 911 and to offer the dispatchers the rare opportunity to see and hear their roles "from the other side of the microphone".
Officer Ruggeri, who started his career in law enforcement many decades ago himself as a police dispatcher, has been chosen to supervise the program.
