Sgt. O'Brien is a graduate of the Region 3 (New Castle County, Delaware) Spring of 2020 class of the NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the graduation ceremony for the Spring of 2020 Class did not take place until May of this year.
Sgt. Ted Lewis is a graduate of the inaugural Region 5 (Chester County, Pennsylvania) Spring of 2022 Class of the NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy.
The NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy is an academically challenging 13 week program modeled after the leadership theories taught at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The program consists of four areas of study that focuses on becoming a leader, motivating individuals, leading groups, and managing environmental factors and outside influences.
Sgt. O'Brien and Sgt. Lewis join Lt. David Leahy, Lt. Jonathan Stafford, and Sgt. James Renegar as current members of the department who have successfully graduated from the program.
