Accreditation

North Coventry Township is an accredited law enforcement agency under the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. The department received its accredited status in July of 2008 and was the first law enforcement agency in Chester County to receive accreditation status after several years of preparation which included policy and procedure review and facilities upgrades. The accreditation process shows the community that the North Coventry Township Police Department operates in compliance with accepted professional standards and best practices for law enforcement. The department provides proof on an ongoing basis that it operates within these standards.  In May of 2020, North Coventry Township Police Department re-accredited for the fourth time, making North Coventry Township Police Department not only the first but also the longest accredited police department in Chester County.
