Reminder for North Coventry Township's Burning Ordinances
Reminder in regards to the North Coventry Township Burning Ordinance from the North Coventry Township Fire Marshall.
North Coventry Township Ordinance 113 (Open Burning) Sections 133-5.6 &133-5.7 allows outdoor burning for cooking and recreational or ceremonial purposes.
For recreational purposes, burning must be done in a chimenea or in an approved fire pit. Fire pits can be manufactured or constructed. Fuel may be propane, natural gas or wood (wood can only be dry seasoned fire wood). Refer to section 133-13 for a list of prohibited items.
When burning in a chimenea or fire pit, please pay attention to weather conditions such as wind, humidity or dry conditions. The National Weather Service issues "Red Flag Warnings" when conditions for burning are not favorable.
ALL OTHER BURNING IN NORTH COVENTRY IS PROHIBITTED IN NORTH COVENTRY
